New guidelines for attention deficit disorder

[KARE 11, October 09, 2019] One in 10 children in the U.S. suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD. For many, the first line of treatment is medication.

The American Academy of Pediatrics just issued new guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD for the first time since 2011. Allina Health child psychiatrist Dr. Travis Dunn talked with KARE 11 News to talk about what the new recommendations mean for doctors, and the symptoms parents should be aware of.
