Doctors optimistic about new peanut allergy treatment

[KMSP Fox 9, November 19, 2018] There could soon be a new treatment option to help millions of people who suffer from peanut allergies.

Dr. Allan Stillerman, an allergist with Allergy & Asthma Specialists and a member of the Allina Health Clinical Research Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital West Health, says he’s optimistic about this new treatment for peanut allergies - especially among children.

Dr. Stillerman had seven patients enrolled in the large trial, testing a new drug designed to build peanut tolerance over time. He says the drug, however, is not a cure.
