District One's new Emergency Department twice as big, efficient as old one

[Faribault Daily News, July 25, 2017] If District One Hospital’s Emergency Department employees are excited about the increased efficiency of their brand new facility, it’s probably because they helped design it.

With a price tag of $13.5 million, the new Emergency Department boasts 16 beds and 20,000 square feet to handle the average 15,000 ED patients treated at District One each year. It is the first part of a commitment from Allina Health made in 2015 to spend $28 million over five years to bolster the hospital.
