World's smallest pacemaker meets initial safety and performance standards

[KSTP TV, May 22, 2015] The Food and Drug Administration is analyzing first-of-its-kind data on a new miniature pacemaker that can get you moving in just a couple of days.

Seventeen out of the 140 patients worldwide who received the special pacemaker inserted are right here in the Twin Cities.

The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation was the fifth-highest enrolling site in the U.S. with a total of 17 patients between Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids and United Hospital in St. Paul.
