[New Ulm Journal, May 23, 2014]   The New Ulm Medical Center celebrated its new partnership with the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing on Thursday, with Penny George assisting Mayor Robert Beussman in cutting a ribbon in the hospital lobby. The Penny George Institute for Health and Healing was founded in 2003 and is a part of Allina Health .

[COON RAPIDS HERALD, May 16, 2014]   Representatives of Allina Health and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota ceremonially broke ground on The Mother Baby Center at Mercy May 14. When the facility opens next summer, specialized care and birthing options will be available close to home for local families and their newborns.

[Star Tribune, May 15, 2014]   Ground has been broken for the new $30 million Mother Baby Center at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. The new center will be part of Allina Heath and Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota's network and is slated to open by mid-2015.

[Business Journal, May 14, 2014]   Allina Health and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota broke ground Wednesday on a $30 million, 62,000-square-foot addition to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. The project marks an expansion of the health systems’ Mother Baby Center concept, which kicked off last year with the opening of a $50 million birth center in Minneapolis.

Minnesotans claimed a basketball championship in Louisville, Ky., April 5 when the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute ’s Junior Rolling Timberwolves Varsity wheelchair basketball team won the national title.
