Special brothers attend special hospital ceremony

Former Abbott Northwestern Hospital newborns participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for The Mother Baby Center

[Brainerd Dispatch, October 6, 2011] Ewan and Erek Carner may be too young now to understand, but one day their mother, Dawn Carner, hopes her sons realize they were part of something special Wednesday.

Ewan, 6, and Erek, 3, were considered micropreemies when the boys from Brainerd were born extremely premature at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

On Wednesday, the Carner boys were guests of honor at a groundbreaking ceremony for the $50 million Mother Baby Center being constructed on Children’s Hospital campus. Read more.
